'Inside Amy Schumer' Renewed for Season 4

Inside Amy Schumer
Good news, “Inside Amy Schumer” fans: The show just got picked up for a fourth season, ahead of its season three premiere.

Schumer made the announcement herself during an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Monday night, where she told the host she just got word about the pickup before heading out onstage. Letterman congratulated the comedienne, and the duo chatted about the highs and lows of working on series television, where Schumer quipped that the annual effort doesn’t get any easier, but “I find I’m getting easier.”

In a statement released Tuesday, Comedy Central praised the show and Schumer.

“We love being ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ and are thrilled our audience agrees,” said Kent Alterman, president of content development and original programming at the network.

“I’m so happy to keep the 'Inside Amy Schumer’ family together,” Schumer added in her own statement. “Excited and scared for everyone to see what we do next.”

There’s certainly a lot for Schumer to be excited about: She just snagged a prestigious Peabody Award for the series, landed a spot on Time’s annual 100 Most Influential People list, hosted the MTV Movie Awards to much fanfare, and is set to star in her first feature film, “Trainwreck,” which she wrote.

Season three of “Inside Amy Schumer” premieres tonight (Tuesday) on Comedy Central at 10:30 p.m. This season will feature plotlines about birth control, dating a rapper, and standing trial in front of an all-male jury. A heavy-hitting roster of big-name guest stars includes Jerry Seinfeld, Paul Giamatti, Dennis Quaid, Jeff Goldblum, Josh Charles, Method Man, Colin Quinn, Kumail Nanjiani, Rob Morrow, Kathy Najimy, America Ferrara, Natasha Lyonne, Abbi Jacobson, Ilana Glazer, Jemima Kirke, Justin Long, Amber Tamblyn, Wyatt Cenac, Jennifer Coolidge, Mike Birbiglia, Michael Ian Black, Rachel Dratch, Eugene Mirman, Bill Nye, and Jon Dore.
